Potter Baseball Clinic Host Families
OCJB is happy to have partnered with the Potter Baseball Tour to host a clinic for players ages 12 and under. Jeff Potter, former pitcher for the Detroit Tigers, has developed this tour for young men, from 13-15 years of age, to teach them not only baseball, but a sense of servitude. Mr. Potter epitomizes and emphasizes to his players the value of selflessness, respect, passion, and hard work by giving back to local communities and teams on every stop of this 42 day tour. This clinic has been organized as a fundraiser for the Jensin Potts Memorial Scholarship. Jensin Potts was a young man who had a great passion for hard work and baseball. The Jensin Potts Memorial Scholarship was founded as a way to give back to young people who have a strong desire and willingness to give back to their communities, much the same as the Potter Baseball Tour.
Potter Baseball tour will be visiting Oil City from July 19th-20th. As a way of controlling costs for the tour and building rapport with the community the tour relies heavily on Host Families. As a Host Family, you are asked to house a player, or players, overnight July 19th. The players do not require any fancy accommodations or amenities, only a place to sleep and shower, and breakfast the following morning if you are so inclined. Air mattresses, sofas, and open floor areas where multiple players can sleep are perfectly acceptable. Please consider opening your home to these young men and help to make this tour stop and clinic a success for the Jensin Potts Memorial Fund!
If you, or someone you know, would like to be a Host Family please contact me, David Guiste, at (814)657-2010.
